Yes, net worth is a MUCH better measure than salary. Someone who makes $50,000 a year but spends only $40,000 is much better off than someone who makes $1,000,000 a year and spends $1,100,000.

I know global numbers are interesting. You do not have to go too far. Take the US numbers and you may also be surprised how well you are doing. Take a look at:

The MEDIAN networth for the average householder is:
Less than 35 years old: 5,896
Overall: 46,506

If you can calculate your networth, and you are above those numbers, you are doing very well!
