This comment is about #5 on the list. Sometimes credit card companies will send a "Cash Back" check to you. It is usually in an amount which would be very difficult for a person to not want to cash. I have recieved these checks from credit card companies and they all have a stipulation on them. Usually upon cashing the check the consumer would be automatically enroled in some add on service that would cost them more money than the check was for.(AFTER THE FIRST MONTH OF THE SERVICE). I just shred these. I have also found out that if a credit card company wants to give you cash back they will just credit your account.

The only travel I don't book online is the kind that costs more than the limit on my charge card...for which I have to go down to the airport and write a check. (Which is a real pain, because then I can't do electronic check-in, which means getting into the A group requires showing up at the airport more than four hours before flight time.)

On the other hand, if my hands are going to smell like cleaning products, vinegar and baking soda is a much less offensive smell than most of the commercial ones on the market. :)
