Here’s a quick look at some of this weeks best personal finance articles from the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond…

First and foremost, I want to plug the launch of the MBN Forums… Our intention has been to create a place for money bloggers to mix and mingle and perfect their craft. So far it’s off to a great start. Please swing by when you have a few spare moments.

JLP of AllThingsFinancial announced that his family no longer has any credit card debt. Way to go JLP! And congratulations on the mention in Money Magazine!

FMF from FreeMoneyFinance wrote up the five worst retirement money mistakes.

Flexo of ConsumerismCommentary got a new job. It should be interesting to read about how things develop for him in the coming months.

mbhunter from MightyBargainHunter wrote up a piece on how he invented a toy for his kid from a tube, a ball, and a coffee can. Speaking as a father of four, I can totally see how this would thrill a young’un.

Jim at pfBlueprint wrote up a piece on ZipRealty, and the fact that they’ll kick back 20% of the commission to you if you use them as your buyer’s agent. Given that we’re in the market for a house, I read this with great interest. According to the comments, though, you get what you pay for if you work with ZipRealty.

TrainWreck from FinancialTrainWreck has an interesting entry on the benefits of living in Georgia where the HOPE Scholarship program pays for your schooling with lottery funds. It really is a great deal, and a good use of lottery money.

Jeremy from FinancialRevolution wrote about the wisdom of asking for an economy car when renting.

The MoneyBloggerPodcast is now up to Episode #10 (Jane Dough of Boston Gal’s Open Wallet).

And in case you missed it, Google has launched a fancy-schmancy finance portal.
