Here’s a quick look at what’s going on around the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond…

Jim at pfBlueprint requested his first balance transfer (something that I have yet to do), and he advises us not to buy an old car — it’s that olld penny wise, pound foolish thing.

Flexo at ConsumerismCommentary talked about the federal government’s decision to investigate the possibility of gas price gouging.

JLP at AllFinancialMatters asked why college textbooks are expensive, and a great discussion ensued.

FMF of FreeMoneyFinance asked if extended warranties are worth it. While they may provide some piece of mind, I’ve rarely gotten anything out an extended warranty. The main exception to this has been buying AppleCare for my PowerBook. I take it with me everywhere, and it takes a beating — thus, that particular extended warranty has come in handy more than once.

MightBargainHunter talked about why we deserve expensive gasoline. He also wondered aloud why it is that many eBay sellers open their auctions at $0.01.

Everybody Loves Your Money talked about why it is that people pay big bucks to store what often amounts to a large pile of crap. I’ve been wondering the very same thing recently, as I’ve been in and out of our local Stor-N-Lok fairly regularly since we prepped our house for sale. It’s amazing what some people keep in their storage units — and no, we’re not storing useless crap… Just a few things that we wanted out of the house while we were showing it.

Jose at Money and Investing suggests that we should blog for (actually, against) debt. It’s an interesting idea, and something that I’m considering (our only debt is our mortage, but still).

Jonathan at MyMoneyBlog put together a quick tutorial on how to buy T-bills.

There’s a new personal finance blog network in town… QueerCents, which is the brainchild of Dawn of Frugal for Life, Nina of Sitting Pretty and Caitlin of Clutter2Cash, is focused on financial issue of particular interest to the GLBT community. Best of luck, ladies!

Finally, I’ve re-refreshed the ING Direct Bonus links, so be sure to stop by and get your free $25 for opening an account. Thus far, I’ve distributed 35 reader-submitted referral links!
