Every time you fill up, whether it's 2 gallons or 20, they deduct $100 from your purchases. So, if you buy $104 in groceries on July 1 and buy 5 gallons of gas on July 2, they reduce your purchases to $4, so you have to buy another $100 to get the $.15 off. However, I will say that it would be foolish not to use their Mastercard. Use their money, pay it off at the end of the month. You get the fuel discount, tons of rewards and you don't pay any interest if you pay the full balance at the end of the month. I've saved close to a thousand a year. Be careful. I am thinking of trying to buy gas from those companies that do not import fuel such as BP. Shell, Exxon, Mobil all import their fuel from Saudi. It worked, so that was good. Honestly, I don't want to have to sign up for a Kroger Mastercard to get my gas discount. This is a big bummer. I noticed this today too!
