My husband and I do NOT like the new current way your discounting the gas. Please go back to the previous way. This was one way I continued to even shop at Kroger since it's considerably higher than your competitors. Your prices are still higher than the guy down the street! You really don't give us much incentive.

Be careful. Every time you fill up, whether it's 2 gallons or 20, they deduct $100 from your purchases. So, if you buy $104 in groceries on July 1 and buy 5 gallons of gas on July 2, they reduce your purchases to $4, so you have to buy another $100 to get the $.15 off. However, I will say that it would be foolish not to use their Mastercard. Use their money, pay it off at the end of the month. You get the fuel discount, tons of rewards and you don't pay any interest if you pay the full balance at the end of the month. I've saved close to a thousand a year.

I was wondering the same thing, so I asked them this morning and the manager just said that they get fuel from different places, but didnt go into detail where those places are or company names. I am thinking of trying to buy gas from those companies that do not import fuel such as BP. Shell, Exxon, Mobil all import their fuel from Saudi. FYI

Kroger gives .10 cents off per gallon up to 32 gallons for ever $100 you spend in groceries per month, so if you spend 100 on June 1st, then you have until the end of July to use the discount of .10 cents off, but also be warned that if you have a phone number tied to your plus card, anyone can use your discount without your knowledge, the program is not being terminated.

I have an accumulated purchases at Kroger for $162, and I get 10 cents discont off a gallon of gas at Kroger, and there is no mention on the bottom of my ticket that it stops at any date. Now I am looking for a Kroger gas station. It does say that I have to purchase the gas by June 3o, 2008.

Funny. My receipts still say I can redeem earned Fuel Rewards through 5/31. That would indicate the program is not ending. However, there's the caveat: Certain restrictions apply. But it's not explained.

Tom, is there any chance that the pumps were inaccurate, such that were delivering less gas than they claimed? This would translate into lower MPG if you based your calculations on the pump amounts.

I have noticed a drop in MPG with Kroger fuel. At first I was concerned that my auto was in need of repair because a sure sign of trouble is a drop in MPG. I switched back to Conoco and my mileage improved. I know someone that had the same experience. It doesn't make sense to me. We live at 5000 feet elevation, I am not sure it is a factor.

I would wager that this is also going to be true at other Kroger-owned grocery chains that have gas stations at some stores, e.g. QFC here in Seattle. If not already, then soon.

Just be glad your car doesn't burn inkjet printer ink. Filling a 15 gallon tank would cost more than the average house. :)

Oh so have to use their credit card? I don't use credit..with them moving the offer to their credit card instead of shopping card...they will make money off the intrest, instead of giving money away. As an investor in Kroger, that's a plus, but as a shopper it will be another reason not to shop at the Dillon's (owned by Kroger) in my town.

I noticed this today too! I went to fill up at my local neighborhood Kroger and the card scanner was taped over. I was owed my .10/gallon from the month before so I just stuck my Kroger card in the credit card slot. It worked, so that was good.

Honestly, I don't want to have to sign up for a Kroger Mastercard to get my gas discount. This is a big bummer.
