Weekly Roundup – 05/12/06

Written by Nickel - One Comment

Here’s a quick look at articles from the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond that caught my eye over the past week…

John at MightyBargainHunter reports on a book that scared the heck out of him. It’s none other than “The Long Emergency,” which I’ve been wanting to read for quite some time now.

JLP at AllFinancialMatters takes a quick look at the newest tax bill. He also just opened a GMAC savings account.

Jim at pfBlueprint also chimed in on the new tax bill.

FMF at FreeMoneyFinance gave us some ideas for saving at least $300/month.

Flexo at ConsumerismCommentary put together a list of ten tips for cutting car expenses.

My lovely and talented wife wrote up a piece called “Best. Job. Ever.” in which she put a positive spin on all the crappy jobs that everyone was complaining about in my “Worst. Job. Ever.” post.

Jeffrey at PF Advice woke up one morning and realized that he’s a professional blogger.

Dave at Dave’s Money Ideas reports that Wal-Mart is trying to trademark the smiley face. So just to rub it in their face, I’m going to put one here… :) Bring it on Wal-Mart.

NCN over at No Credit Needed posted a list of ten money saving tips. He also produces a great little podcast which is definitely worth checking out.

Cap is thinking of buying his mom a gift certificate for Mother’s Day. He seems to be having second thoughts, but can’t come up with anything better, so… Stop by and let him know what a thoughtless bastard he is! ;)

Finally, if you’re a blogger, please be sure to stop by the MoneyBlogNetwork Forums to check out the latest topics and discussions.

Update: I almost forgot… Nick at Punny Money is doing a Blogathon to fight cancer. Be sure to stop by and check it out.
