On the note about monitoring your credit card awards, we had a similar situation with our cable company a while back.  We were supposed to have a 6 month promo rate for cable internet, but they jacked us up the regular rate after 2 or 3 months.  A quick phone call got it resolved and saved us $50-60.</description>
