Weekly Roundup – 09/29/06
Here’s a quick look at some articles that caught my eye over the past week.
Flexo is wondering aloud what he should do with his side income… I say put in all on black. No, wait… Red. He’s also linked up an interesting article on the 50 best values in public colleges.
Jim thinks college students should start thinking about contributing to a Roth IRA, and I agree. He also managed to scare up another free $100 for opening a Citi credit card. And you can get a 0% balance transfer on top of it (if you’re into that sort of thing — to be honest, I’m not).
FMF wants to know why companies don’t listen to customer service feedback, and he wants to know which companies you think are especially good or bad when it comes to customer service. He also has a list of good reasons to use credit cards, including rewards, purchase protection, and reduced liability if someone picks your pocket.
JLP has details on a straegy for circumventing Roth IRA contribution limits with future conversions.
MBH decided to fight the power and tattle on a merchant that refused to do a low dollar credit card transaction.
Over at raising4boys.com I talked about the fact that I want to buy a Nintendo Wii for Christmas — no, we won’t be buying TMX Elmo, but we might just spring for the Wii.
Home Insurance Guide has a list of 12 ways to lower your homeowners insurance.
For those of you that are interested in saving for retirement, there’s a new blog on the block — go check out MyRetirementBlog.
Please also be sure to check out the MoneyBlogNetwork Forums — there are lots of great personal finance discussions going on!
