Signup Bonuses for Business Credit Cards (Anyone can Apply)

Written by nickel - 6 Comments

Update: You can now get $800 in signup bonuses.

I’ve recently been trolling for juicy credit card signup bonuses… I’m in the process of setting up an LLC for our side business, and have thus been working to separate out our business and personal finances. In short, this involves: (1) setting up a separate bank account, and (2) opening up a business credit card. And being a money-savvy guy, I’m always looking for ways to pick up a few spare bucks. Enter the following four business credit cards, all of which offer juicy signup bonuses.

» Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express

This card is my top choice in the short-term… It offers $150 in quick rewards in the the form of a $100 statement credit withn you spend $100 or more, and if you click on the “Learn More” link you’ll see that you’ll instantly get 5000 points (which can be redeemed for a $50 gift card) when your first purchase. The only downside to this card is that there’s a $125 annual, though it’s waived for the first year.

» Starwood Preferred Guest Business Card from American Express

The Amex Starwood Preferred Guest card is another great choice… Earn 10,000 points (redeemable for a $100 gift certificate or travel rewards) with your first purchase. There’s a $30 annual fee, but it’s waived for the first year.

» CitiBusiness Card with ThankYou Network

This card is part of the Citi ThankYou Redemption network, and you’ll receive 10,000 ThankYou points (redeemable for up to $100 in gift certificates, student loan payments, etc.) after $250 purchase. Best of all, there’s no annual fee.

So there you have it… Four business credit cards that’ll net you up to $500 in signup bonuses with no out-of-pocket expense. And remember, you don’t really have to have a standalone business — if the application asks for a federal tax ID, just use your SSN (in the case of sole proprietorships, these are one and the same). As for the business name, you can just use your name.

*Note: One of these offers (worth $150) has been cancelled and removed)

  1. Thanks for the tips! Perfect timing, my LLC is up and running and I’m looking for a better card myself. Looks like the AmEx Gold is probably the best bet.

I imagine that for a new company with no credit history, the application will probably have to use an SSN anyway to get approved.

  4. Good work on tackling the separating of your business and personal finances. Most people don’t really figure this out until halfway into their first year. Making proper equity deposits and equity withdrawals to go between personal and business will keep your tax prep pro/bookkeeper happier than you’ll ever know. (assuming you’re not taking on the tax prep yourself!) Best of luck the the side business.

  5. Yeah, people tend to shun business credit card applications if they have no legitimate businesses not knowing that they are missing out on fabulous offers. It’s perfectly fine. Compare business credit cards so you’ll be able to weigh your options and if you think you’ve found the right one, go for it.

  6. your link for CitiBusiness PremierPass MasterCard doesn’t open a link for an application page with those terms. Do you actually have one? Please either send code or a new link to me via email for applying now with the specific terms you mention in the blog. thanks
