HSBC Direct to Revamp Website
I just got an interesting message from HSBC Direct in my inbox. It seems that they’re re-working their web interface. Hopefully things will go more smoothly for HSBC than they did for Emigrant Direct when they took their website offline for a re-design and then couldn’t get it back up and running for several days. Which reminds me — I need to move some money out of HSBC in the near future, so perhaps I should initiate the transfer right now just to be on the safe side… Anyway, here’s the text of their message in case you’re curious:
There’s something new on the horizon:
We’re giving HSBC Direct a new look and feel that better reflects your savings style, so you can reach your goals even faster.
Starting next week, you’ll find:
- smart tools and calculators that make planning easy.
- updated FAQs to help you find answers fast.
- easier navigation for quick account access. The new HSBC Direct site is designed to help you make the most of your savings. Take advantage of these new features at www.hsbcdirect.com beginning in mid-January.

I got that email as well, but I have not tried logging in yet since I got home from my trip. I set up an automatic transfer scheduled for yesterday and I got email notification that it was happening, though, so even if the site is not up it is still working in the back end.
Comment by Blaine Moore — Jan 9th 2007 @ 9:55 amThe new website is up and I’m pretty psyched about the redesign. What do you think? It’d be cool to see a poll about the response.
Comment by Suzanne — Jan 16th 2007 @ 2:29 pmLooks like the site redesign wasn’t anything major after all.
