Weekly Roundup – 02/09/07
Here’s a quick look at some of the articles that caught my eye over the past week…
Jim got denied for a 0% balance transfer credit card offer because of some negative items on his credit report that weren’t even his. Is he the victim of identity theft? Let’s hope not.
MBH admits to being a bonehead.
FMF talks about keeping small expenditures under control.
Flexo fields a question from a reader regarding Swiss bank accounts. He’s also offering anyone that’s interested an opportunity to create their own personal finance weblog free of charge.
JLP provides a list of reasons why he maintains a weblog.
The Good Human explains why you shouldn’t worry about the extra cost of a hybrid car.
JD talks about the curse of the money-saving gadget.
My Retirement Blog talks about diversifying your tax profile.
Jeffrey talks about counterfeit check scams. While I’ve advised in the past that you need to think before you write that check, apparently you also need to think before depositing a check.
Finally, Nick has some advice for getting cash from a CoinStar machine without paying a fee. Of course, you could wind up in jail, but… At least you’ll have some extra money in your pocket to post bail.
