I have had this $10.00 deal from AT&T for over a year now and I love it....I still have a year of this bargain DSL. It does require that you have AT&T or Bellsouth as your phone service provider. Also some areas are not wired for DSL yet, I have a nephew about 6 miles from me and he can't get it yet. But its worth adding your phone number and see if you qualify it is so much faster than my dial up was and I like being on the net 24/7 and it frees up my phones.

I think 768k would be great for online gaming, its all about the latency as opposed to the bandwidth.

I wonder if the offer is valid for absolute new subscriber. Most of these things say new subscriber but they really mean subscriber who haven't had an account for 90 days.

This deal doesn't apply to me, but I had a similar experience with cable for a while. We downgraded to broadcast basic for $8 permonth. After about 6 months the cable company offered us full expanded basic for 19.99 (normally 43). The offer was good for a year. When the year ended, they allowed us to stay with the price for another year. We said we would revert to broadcast basic if the price went up. They did not extend it for a third year. It was a great ride while it lasted!
