Weekly Roundup – 100% Agave Edition
Well, here I sit on a Saturday night watching college football and sipping on margarita made with 100% agave tequila. Mmmm, mmmm, good… And the good guys are winning, so all is right in the universe. With that said, here’s a quick look at some of the articles that caught my eye over the past week.
FMF wrote about a reader asking for advice on the age old dilemma of higher income vs. longer commute. It’s an interesting (and difficult) situation to be in. Fortunately, when we moved a year ago it was for both a substantially higher salary and a shorter commute.
JLP provided an interesting look at the effects of timing (and luck) on market performance.
MBH talked about the increasingly popular habit of airlines charging extra for every last thing.
Flexo wrote about upgrading his living room entertainment.
Jim advised us not to get attached to banks, credit cards, etc.
NCN started a great new series called “33 Days and 33 Ways to Save Money and Reduce Debt“.
SVB talked about whether or not to roll over your IRA.
Clever Dude got smacked with a huge electric bill. So did we. More on this in a forthcoming post.
Jeremy took a critical look at investing newsletters.
Lazy Man talked about saving money on movies, music, books, TV, etc.
MyRetirementBlog talked about adjusting your investments (or not) in a down market.
4M talked about finding your money leaks.
Ben talked about gambling on the lottery vs. a new business.
Sun talked about investing vs. paying off credit card debt.
Finally, JD put together a nice article on how to read a personal finance book.
