Usernames have been around since sometime last year.

One nice security feature that ING has that I have not seen elsewhere is that you enter your 4-digit PIN (yeah I know, how secure is that?) on a screen keypad. The keypad associates a letter to each digit. This letter changes each time you try to login, so it is impossible to guess.

This is awesome! I had always only used Yodlee MoneyCenter auto-login to access ING Direct because it was such a pain to dig out the customer number.

I had no idea this feature was even there. Awesome! I never bothered to memorize my number though because I would just go into Gmail and search for that email.

Hmm…I’ve used this option ever since the first day I opened the account, which was quite awhile back. I have a habit of going through all the settings of any account I have so that’s how I found this.

Have people really been memorizing their account numbers?! I feel bad…I should’ve said something earlier!

I don’t remember when this came out, but I was very excited. There are so many numbers I try to remember in everyday life. Instead I just used the SN I had used before in banking.

Well, congratulations Ing! Welcome to 2003 . No one likes to sign in to things with their account numbers. it’s such a pain to remember.

I also opened my account at the beginnning of Feb, and it wasn’t an option then. It was one of the things, if not the only thing, I complained about when asked about the sign up process.

This is wonderful news. We have an ING account for our daughter that we put spare change, birthday money, etc. in. This will definitely make it easier to make deposits.

It’s been around for a little while at least– I had the option when I opened my ING account in the beginning of February.
