As long as your deposit with WaMU is not over $100,000 your money is safe as it is FDIC insured. A CFA explained this - $100K means - all inclusive in all accounts in a individuals name at a bank. Example: If you held multiple CDs and a savings account totaling more than 100K at the bank then all funds beyound 100K including all the interest you earned on various accounts is not insured incase the bank fails.
