Paying less interest is always good. Just make sure you really can pay it off before the introductory rate goes away.

Is it possible/a good idea to use 0% APR credit cards to pay off debt, assuming you can pay off the balance before the 0% APR expires? I have a couple thousand dollars in student loans that's gathering interest and I'm considering using a 0% APR card to do it and then paying that balance off within the year.

Joe: Yeah, unfortunately, that's a targeted offer. Plus, $4k is steep for some people. Too bad it's not proportional, so you'd get a $400 bonus for $4k in spending. Oh well...
