I've been using Quicken since the DOS days - use to love it, now I tolerate it. Its still the best value in personal finance sw out there, but its the small things that have started to irritate me. Like the constant embedded ads - never seen that in purchased sw before. And the 2 year support cycle - that is incredibly short. And now the latest discount offer - "$20 off and free shipping" - but if you want the CD-ROM they charge shipping! The shipping is only free for the download option, where there is no shipping! I've already switched from Intuit TurboTax to H&R TaxCut because I got tired of the Intuit mail-in rebate scam. Now I find myself looking for an alternative to Quicken as well. The sw is good but I hate being jerked around and deceived by excessive marketing and sales deceptions.
