The hardest part financially for my husband and I is barely scraping by, while we watch our friends out around town in their new cars, while we drive our one car into the ground in order to pay down debt, so I suppose the hardest thing is not being envious of what others have right now.

My biggest financial challenge was being married to someone who thought indebtedness up to one’s eyeballs is a fine way to live.

@My Journey I’m glad that you’ve faced your debt head on. I had to admit to myself that my credit debt was stupid and paying that off gave me some relief.

Like some things in life, you need to just jump in there and learn. This is one of those things. Just do it and being managing finances to get a hang of it.

I think the HARDEST thing to do (at least it was for me) was admitting your shortcoming. In my case, I had a problem with credit card debt and it wasn’t till I admitted to myself and the wife that we had some serious debt that a plan could even begin to be formulated.

Thanks for the post. Perfection often paralyzes best intentions. I agree that the best approach is to start something and then go back and tweak it later.
