I had a very good Citi Card with rewards for several years, but then they tacked on an Annual fee. I dropped it because there were equal but no-fee alternatives from other companies. Interesting to see similar cards now appear from Citi, with no annual fee. Change of heart? Too late for me, though.

The Platinum Select card used to be even better, offering 1% cash back on all purchases, 2-5% back on gas, groceries, etc. I still have that reward program on my older card

John – I have the Citi Dividend World Mastercard which is 2% on gas, groceries, pharmacy and utilities and 1% on everything else (was my first card actually, back in 2001). No annual fee (but the interest rate is like 23%) – do they not offer this anymore?

the citi forward card gives you the 5 reward points for any purchase at amazon.com

I also have the older Platinum Select Card which offers the cash back program. The %’s used to be better, as John referenced above, but it’s still a solid card in my mind. I didn’t realize the newer version got rid of this program.

Courtney – Yea it appears any form of cash back is completely gone from newer cards. Luckily they haven’t changed our older programs…

I have a citi card–be wary of the 0% offers. I did a 9 month 0% balance transfer 01/2010. Last month (4/2010) they tried to start charging me interest. They removed the interest, but have done it again this month (05/2010). Now the latest email from them is saying– the offer expired in March. The promotion may have expired in March, but the offer was for a 9 month offer. I don’t know what they’re up to, but appears fishy to me.
