Credit Card Offers: Rewards Credit Cards

Today we are reviewing the best credit cards that are offering top rewards. This post is the next post in our ongoing Saturday series. This series is dedicated to highlighting the credit card offers and features that you might be most interested in. In the preceding weeks, we have looked at other rewards offers including the top free rewards offers and the top cash back credit cards. We’ve also looked at credit cards offering ideal terms such as the best low interest credit cards and the top 8 balance transfer cards. And we’ve even looked at the best cards from certain providers including PenFed credit cards, Chase credit cards, Citibank credit cards, and Discover credit cards. As the next in the series, this post should help you determine which of the cards is right for you if you are seeking ongoing rewards from your credit card use.

Best Rewards Credit Cards From Chase

Chase Bank offers three great rewards credit cards: Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire and Ink Cash Business. There is no annual fee on any of these cards. All of these cards come with Chase Blueprint, a free program that allows you to choose different flexible repayment plans for various purchases. Chase offers purchase protection and 0% liability fraud protection. Chase Freedom and Ink Cash Business offer 0% intro APR on purchases. The Chase Freedom’s intro offer is for 15 months.

Chase Freedom® Visa

Chase Freedom® Visa is a cash back credit card that offers you 5% cash back on various rotating spending bonus categories which change every three months, subject to quarterly enrollment and maximum. You can earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases with no spending tiers. You can also earn as much as 10% cash back if you shop online at select merchants through the Chase store. There are no maximum number of points so you get unlimited cash back with this rewards credit card. However bonus and promotional offers may have a maximum accumulation.

Chase Sapphire

Chase Sapphire is a rewards card that provides you with an opportunity to earn points that can be redeemed for travel and purchases. There are no restrictions or blackout dates for redeeming your rewards. You receive 1 point for every dollar that you spend. Double points are awarded when using Chase Sapphire to purchase airline tickets through the Chase Travel Booking Tool. 2 points per dollar spent at restaurants. Additionally, for a limited time earn 10,000 bonus points after you spend $500 in the first 3 months – that’s $100 toward a round trip flight or any other reward.

Ink Cash Business Card -

Ink Cash Business is the best Chase rewards card for business cardholders. It offers unlimited cash back earnings. In addition to the rewards on this credit card, further perks include travel insurance up to $100,000 and other travel-related coverage such as auto theft coverage, auto rental collision damage and roadside assistance as needed.

Best Rewards Credit Cards from PenFed

PenFed offers two good options for rewards credit cards: the PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card and the PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card. These cards may require a one-time $20 contribution or $15 membership fee if you do not qualify as a free member of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union (see PenFed website for details). These cards offer an excellent promotional rate of 4.99% for online balance transfers on transfers made from April 1, 2013 through June 30, 2013 for the life of balance with no balance transfer fee. After that, the APR for any new balance transfers will be 9.99% and will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. The fee for balance transfers made after June 30, 2013 will return to 3% (Min. – $10, Max. – $250) per transaction. Both cards currently offer a very low introductory variable rate of 9.99%, (this rate is capped through June 30, 2014) on purchases and cash advances with no cash advance fees. There is no annual fee on either of these credit cards.

PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card

PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American ExpressRated as one of the best credit cards of 2009 by CardRatings.com, the PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American Express Card is the better PenFed credit card option for people seeking a travel rewards credit card. This credit card offers one point per dollar on purchases and five points on airfare purchases made on the credit card. Cardholders can earn 20,000 bonus points simply by spending $2,500 within the first three months of opening the card. Points can be redeemed for airline travel, gift cards and more. Travel-related bonus perks on this credit card (conditions apply) include two complimentary Lounge Club visits at airports around the world upon spending $15,000 on the card annually, travel insurance and roadside assistance. This card does not have an annual fee.

PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card

PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa CardThe PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card is a better option for people who do their traveling by car. It is a cash back rewards credit card that offers 5% cash back on your gas purchases paid at the pump,** certain restrictions may apply. You earn 0.25% cash back on other purchases.** Your cash rewards are credited to you every month with this card. There is no annual fee for this card.

Best Rewards Credit Cards from American Express

There are four different good rewards cards to choose from with American Express: Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express, Blue Sky from American Express®, Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express OPEN and American Express Gold Card. The Blue Sky from American Express® and Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express offer flexible repayment options and no annual fee. $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $65 for the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express OPEN.

Blue Cash Everyday Card® from American Express

Blue Cash from American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express is a cash back rewards card designed to offer you 3% cash back at US supermarkets up to $6,000 per year in purchases and 2% cash back on gasoline at US gas stations and 2% cash back at select US department stores. It also offers you 1% cash back on other purchases. Cash back is received in the form of a Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit. As a Welcome Bonus you can earn 100 Reward Dollars after spending $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months of Cardmembership. With this card you have flexibility to pay over time. Blue Sky from American Express®

Blue Sky from American ExpressBlue Sky from American Express® is the rewards card for American Express users who want travel rewards. You earn one point for virtually every dollar that you spend on this card. Points can be redeemed for travel on any airline without blackout dates. Points can also be redeemed for car rental, hotel rooms and other travel-related purchases. The card does not carry an annual fee. Terms and Restrictions Apply.

Starwood Preferred® Guest Business Credit Card from American Express Open

Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express OpenThe Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express Open is another great AmEx rewards card but this one is especially ideal for business travelers who enjoy staying at Starwood hotels which include Sheraton, Westin and and W Hotels. You earn one point towards Starwood stays for every $1 of eligible purchases that you spend on the card. Earn up to 5x Starpoints for every dollar of qualifying purchases charged directly at participating Starwood hotels and resorts. Plus you can earn 10,000 Starpoints bonus for your first purchase and an additional 15,000 bonus Starpoints when you spend $5,000 in the first six months of Cardmembership which can be redeemed for hotel stays at over 1,100 hotels and resorts participating in SPG program and for flights on over 350 airlines through SPG Flights. American Express® Gold Card

American Express® Gold CardAmerican Express Gold Card is a general rewards charge card that gives you access to gold member perks. You can earn one point for every eligible $1 that you spend with this card. Points can be redeemed for travel rewards with no seat restrictions or blackout dates when you book online with American Express Travel. Points may also be redeemed for gift cards for dining, entertainment and to shop at over 300 of some of your favorite brands. Use your card to get discounts and low rates at hotels and resorts, plus a $75 hotel credit when you book through Gold Hotel Collection.
