Chase Freedom® is a cash back credit card that allows you to get at least 1% cash back on every purchase that you make. However, the reason that people like this credit card is because it comes with the option to get up to 5% cash back on certain spending bonus categories. The categories are common purchase categories such as gas stations, restaurants and Amazon.com. The categories rotate every three months and there are four categories during each period, subject to quarterly enrollment and maximum.
This credit card comes with Chase Blueprint, a program that allows you to select flexible repayment plans that are right for you. There is no annual fee for this credit card.
Blue Cash Everyday® from American Express
Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express is a great cash back rewards card for people who mostly use their credit cards to pay for daily expenses at places like gas stations, major department stores and supermarkets. That’s because this credit card offers you 3% at U.S. supermarkets, up to $6, 000 per year in purchases; 2% at U.S. gas stations & select U.S. department stores. This card also gives you a bit more back in rewards since you can earn 1% cash back on your other purchases. Terms and limitations apply. If you don’t like keeping track of rotating spending categories but still want to get 3% cash back on some of your purchases, then this might be a smart choice for your credit card. There are no rotating categories on your cash-back earnings and no enrollment is required before cash is earned. This credit card comes with some additional benefits as well. There is a generous 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months, which then goes to a variable rate currently 13.24% to 23.24% based on your creditworthiness and other factors. PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card
The PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card is a cash back rewards credit card for people who do a lot of traveling in the car. That’s because the Plus version of the card offers you a full 5% cash back on your gas purchases when you pay at the pump using this card. Fuel purchases for airplanes and boats do not receive cash back rewards. Your cash rewards are credited to you every month with this card. To get the Plus version of the card you must obtain a qualifying PenFed product such as an active checking account with direct deposit ($250 min). Certain restrictions may apply. The Standard version of this card offers 3 percent cash back on gas purchases paid at the pump and an introductory annual fee of $0, then a $25 annual fee.
In addition to being a good cash back rewards card for gas, the PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa Card, subject to credit approval, is great for people who want a balance transfer credit card and a card that is good for cash advances. Currently there is a 4.99 percent promotional balance transfer rate for 48 months on balance transfers made between April 01, 2014 through June 30, 2014. After June 30, 2014 the APR for new balance transfers will vary with the market based on Prime Rate and is currently 9.99 percent. There is a 3 percent fee for balance transfers per transaction. This transaction is subject to credit approval.
The catch is this card is restricted to members of Pentagon Federal Credit Union, one way you can apply for membership is by joining the National Military Family Association or another qualifying organization with a low one-time fee. Membership to the credit union does not guarantee you will be approved for this card, you will still need to submit an application for consideration and excellent credit is one of the requirements. TrueEarnings Card from Costco and American Express
TrueEarnings Card from Costco and American Express is a cash back rewards credit card that is particularly attractive to Costco shoppers who are also travelers. That’s because this card offers you 2% cash back on eligible travel purchases, including at Costco; and 2% cash back on dining at US restaurants. You also earn 3% cash back on gasoline at US gas stations and on gasoline at Costco up to $4, 000 per year in purchases, then 1%. You also can get 1% cash back on other purchases, including at Costco. Terms and limitations apply. You will receive your cash back annually in the form of a reward coupon. There is no annual fee for Costco members and this credit card then doubles as your Costco membership card.
