Discover More Card $150 Signup Bonus

This is just a quick note to let you know that the Discover More card is currently offering a $150 signup bonus. It’s been over a year since I last wrote about a Discover signup bonus, and this one is twice as rich as the last one.

To qualify for the bonus, you need to apply for the card, get approved, and then spend $1000 within the first 90 days.

In case you’re not familiar with the Discover More card, it’s widely considered to be one of the best cash back credit cards, paying up to 5% cash back in rotating categories with no annual fee.

Other attractive features of this card include 0% on purchases for the first six months, 0% on balance transfers for the first six months (albeit with a 3% fee), and up to 20% cash back when shopping through their online shopping mall.

But really… That $150 cash bonus is the big thing here.

I love Discover. Noticed that after Chase hit them for low caps on rotating categories they bumped them up for the new year – $1500/quarter. Also 2% back on birthday month, utilities, and lots of other “random” promotions. Plus great tools like using your card to give family and friends money via PayPal, paying with Cashback bonus on Amazon, and generating a unique card # for online purchases.

I like the $150 cashback just for applying. I got the card when they offered $75.00. Be forewarned: you must spend $3k in order to get 1% cashback on “all else.” Before you reach $3k in purchases, you get only .25%.

You get 5% on rotating categories, which do not include Sam’s club or Sam’s gas.

After you get the $150 bonus, you might sockdrawer the card and use it only for 5% categories.
