You’re Doing Better Than You Think

Feeling down on your luck? Want to feel better about your financial situation? Then drop by the Global Rich List, enter your annual salary, and prepare to be amazed at how well off you really are. I have no idea how accurate the numbers are, but we’re well within the top 1%. Of course, that figure doesn’t take into account the number of people supported by my salary.

Yes, net worth is a MUCH better measure than salary. Someone who makes $50,000 a year but spends only $40,000 is much better off than someone who makes $1,000,000 a year and spends $1,100,000. 😉

Thanks for the census link. I’m under 35 and well above not only the median for my age group, but the overall median, as well. Good info.

I know global numbers are interesting. You do not have to go too far. Take the US numbers and you may also be surprised how well you are doing. Take a look at:

    http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/wealth/wealth.html

The MEDIAN networth for the average householder is:
Less than 35 years old: 5,896
    Overall: 46,506

If you can calculate your networth, and you are above those numbers, you are doing very well!

    Keep the good work!
