Christmas Shopping Roundup

Bank Deal: Earn 1.00% APY on an FDIC-insured savings account at Barclays.

Given that we’re heading into the last weekend before Christmas, I thought I’d throw together a special roundup of articles focusing on Christmas shopping.

For starters, JD put together a nice article about the four things that kids want for Chrismas. The trouble is, JD doesn’t have kids, so he doesn’t really know what he’s talking about. 😉 So I though I’d step in and list four things that our kids want for Christmas:

1. A new bike (our ten year old)
2. A green light saber (our seven year old)
3. A Nintendo DS Lite (our five year old)
4. Some sort of Dinosaur (our three year old)

Elsewhere, Madison shared some tips for sticking to your Christmas budget, and MoneySmartLife followed up with some ways to save money during the Holiday season.

Are you still looking for some last minute gift ideas? Then why not check out Jeremy’s list of eight gift ideas under $75? If you’re feeling frugal, then David’s list of ten gift ideas for under $15 might be more your style.

Not feeling particularly generous? Instead of buying gifts for someone else, why not by one for yourself? FMF is curious as to how many of you are doing this. To be honest, I did, but… It was the direction of my wife, who told me to go buy myself something that she could wrap up and put it under the tree. As it turns out, Sun did something similar.

Finally, since the holidays involve a good bit of wining and dining, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Lazy Man’s thoughts on how to save on wine. Jim also shared a list of tips for saving on wine. So relax, drink up, and enjoy the holidays…

  2. I love your site. I read your article on 0% credit cards. I thought I was the only one who thought like that. May I recommend this site to help you and your readers save even more. This site has helped my family save a little over $1K and I’ve only been visiting the site for about a year now.

  3. Tom: Thanks for stopping by. I’m a big fan of SlickDeals, though I don’t visit there as often as I used to.
