One Year Ago This Week (September 3rd – September 9th)

Here’s a quick look at some of my favorite posts from a year ago this past week:

• Blocking eBay Bidders – A quick tip for keeping out the riff-raff when selling stuff on eBay.

• Keep an Eye on Your Credit Card Rewards – An example of why you need to keep an eye on credit card companies when it comes to receiving what you’re due.

• Amazon’s Price Drop Policy – Information on a little-known price drop policy from Amazon.com.

• CitiBank’s Click-to-Pay Service – If you have a Citi credit card, then read this and do it! You never know when you’ll need to make a payment at the drop of a hat, so you’d better unlock this feature.

• Ratcheting up our Roth IRA Contributions – Details on my strategy for increasing our retirement contribution rate whenever I get a raise.

These are some great tips you provided. Since I just found your site a couple days ago, year old posts are just as good as brand new stuff (since they are brand new to me).

On the note about monitoring your credit card awards, we had a similar situation with our cable company a while back. We were supposed to have a 6 month promo rate for cable internet, but they jacked us up the regular rate after 2 or 3 months. A quick phone call got it resolved and saved us $50-60.
